Bridal dress or "illusion" dress

I found (in the closet of the school where I teach fashion design) some big and small pieces of different fabrics all in tones of white and I tried to drape them (without cutting) around a dress form to create an unusual deconstructed bridal dress. I put a stiff kind of crinoline on the bottom for extra volume, then many layers of soft tulle. The upper skirt is made of white silk. For the top I used a piece of white-off delicate tulle to contrast with a large chenille net kind of fabric, giving it a loose fit.  I like the final result, especially the way the different feels and textures of the fabrics contrast with each other. I refer to it as to an "illusion dress", because it doesn't really exist, it's a temporary idea that will disappear when I will remove the fabrics from the dressform.

Ho trovato (nell'armadio della scuola dove insegno design di moda) alcuni grandi e piccoli pezzi di stoffe diverse tutte in vari toni di bianco e ho provato a drappeggiarli (senza tagliarli) attorno ad un manichino per creare una vestito da sposa insolito e decostruito. Ho messo sul dietro una crinolina rigida per un effetto volume, poi molti strati di tulle morbido. Infine la gonna vera e propria è di seta bianca. Per il top ho usato un pezzo di delicato tulle cipria a contrasto con una specie di rete in ciniglia a cui ho dato una linea morbida e cadente. Mi piace l'effetto finale, specialmente il modo in cui le texture dei diversi tessuti contrastano e si esaltano a vicenda. L'ho chiamato "illusione di abito" perchè non esiste realmente, è un'idea temporanea che sparirà quando toglierò le stoffe dal manichino.
